Game 5 - Gold Bracket Semi-finals - Miami DadeSunday started off with a game against National Ranked foe Miami Dade whom WSCC lost to at the National tournament last May. Today would prove different as Holli Hill picked up where Sexton left off the night before. Hill threw 8 shut-out innings while giving up just on hit. She allowed 4 other base runners though, on 3 walks and one reaching on error. They failed to move as the runners tried to advance against catcher Dandi Ammons who threw out 4 of the 5 total base runners to thwart any scoring threat. The offense finds a way to put on run on the board in the first extra inning which would be the winning result. In the tie breaker, Franks started out at second base and was moved to third with a sacrifice bunt by Brooke Allgood. Pinch hitting, Jennifer Sexton delivered a single to left center to the score the winning run. Hill then held on for the victory with some strong defense behind her. Franks, Sexton and Baucom had the only hits for WSCC. |
